KPCU is again participating in a food drive in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast TN. This organization supports food insecure families in Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Sullivan, Washington, and Unicoi counties. We will be collecting food items from Monday, September 16 through Friday, November 1.
Because of the current state of the supply chain and fuel prices, it has become increasingly difficult to obtain food to distribute to those in need. This is where our staff and members can help! Through the end of November, drop off any of the below items at any of our 3 branches. We have a Second Harvest food barrel located in each of our lobbies.
Second Harvest accepts non-perishable food items such as:
– Dry cereals
– Rice
– Canned meat or fish
– Dry beans
– Canned soups or vegetables
– Spaghetti sauce
– Pasta noodles
– Peanut butter
– Canned fruits
– Instant potatoes
– Oatmeal
– Baby food
They cannot accept homemade food items. Join us in fighting hunger in our region!
